Nelson Gutsch is a Junior at Oberlin College and Conservatory pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a Minor in Jazz Bass Performance. His primary area of study is lighting technology and design, but he also has experience with scenery, sound, projections, costumes, properties, music, technical direction, and performance. He has designed lighting for a multitude of productions in numerous spaces since he began designing in February of 2021, and he has worked as an electrician, programmer, assistant designer, and/or associate designer for over 40 additional productions within the same timeline. Nelson is currently the Chair of Oberlin's Student Lighting and Sound Association (SLSA), Technical Director for Oberlin Musical Theater Association (OMTA) and Oberlin Student Theater Association (OSTA), and a Technical Assistant in the Oberlin Theater Electrics Shop.
